Magnolia Recipe

Banana pudding a simple recipe with pudding, vanilla wafers and bananas. Some like mix everything in a bowl and serve, some like to seperate layers. One layer of biscuits, one layer of pudding and one layer of bananas. Decorating and serving choice depends on you.

Banana pudding originally made with bananas. You can make it with strawberrys if you prefer.

NOTES:

  • For the measurement cups which i use please look at “measurements” .
  • Eggs must be fresh. Inside of egg must not be shaken when you shake the egg.
  • Serves 6 with my serve cups. It depens on your serve cups.
  • You can use vanilla wafers or ladyfingers.

Ingredients:

  • 700 ml milk (About 3 cups)
  • 150 gr granulated sugar  (3/4 cup)
  • 2 egg yolks (L boy)
  • 2 bananas
  • 20 gr starch (2,5 tbsp)
  • 5 gr flour (1/2 tbsp)
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 30 gr butter (2 tbsp)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 gr of vanilla wafers
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. In a large soucepan mix together granulated sugar, starch, flour and salt.
  2. Pour over the half of milk and whisk until smooth. Add egg yolks, and remaining milk and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in the butter and vanilla extract. Pour over another bowl and let it cool for 30-45 minutes.
  4. Whip the cream until thickens with a mixer in a bowl. Pour through the pudding and stir with a spatula until homgenized.
  5. Ground biscuits by your hands or with food processor. Peel and slice bananas.
  6. Add all off buscuits and bananas into the pudding and stir or place a layer of biscuits, a layer of bananas over pudding in each serve bowl.
