Homemade hot chocolate

Hot chocolate is perfect for cold winter days and delicious than store boughts. There are lots of recipes but it is basic one. No need dried milk or coffe cream.

You will have 275 gr of hot chocolate mixture. For 240 ml (1 cup) of milk you need 2-3 tbsp mixture. So you can have 10-15 serves. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 months.

NOTES:

  • I use %70 bitter sweet chocolate. If you prefer milk chocolate decrease 2-3 tbsp of sugar.
  • Refrigerate chocolates for 30 minutes before you use. It makes to cut easy.
  • You can use granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar.
  • I add cinnamon. Ginger, nutmeg, vanilla or coffee you can use either.
  • Amount of sugar depends on you. If needs you can add when you’re cooking.

Ingredients:

  • 120 gr powdered sugar (3/4 cup)
  • 50 gr cocao powder (1/2 cup)
  • 85 gr chocolate (% 70 bitter sweet)
  • 25 gr cornstarch (3 tbsp)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Chop cooled chocolates.
  2. Combine all ingredients and chocolates in a food processor. Blend until mixture is powdery.
  3. Mixture is ready.

How to make hot chocolate?

  • Add 2-3 tbsp of mixture to 240 ml (1 cup) cold milk
  • Bring to a simmer in medium heat by whisking occasionally.
  • You can serve with marshmellows or whisked cream.
